The Lake Kariba in Zambia, one of the largest man-made reservoirs by volume in the world is a multi-purpose reservoir that provides, amongst other activities, hydroelectric power generation and fishing. As a result of increased anthropological activities on the lake there is increased interest in the effects that these activities may impart on the health of the aquatic life and their immediate environment. This study focuses on the environmental stressors that include chemical contaminants that may have a deleterious effect on the lake and its biota. ….
